This site is designed to help support Bob's coaching by providing valuable information for both the public and Bob's clients

Bob has been coaching Triathlon and swimming for many years, and at the moment is the swim coach for:

Ryton Triathlon Club and
Durham Triathlon Club

As well as being a Level 3 Triathlon coach, Bob is also a Coach Tutor and Assessor and is also a Level 3 Referee

Bob has also worked with several different coaches on training camps both in the UK and Europe.

Open Water Swimming at Hetton Lyons Country Park

Open water swimming has started again at Hetton Lyons Country Park, Hetton-le-Hole, which is off the A690 between Durham and Sunderland (DH5 0RH is the nearest post code, but DON'T put this into your Sat Nav as you'll end up in an industrial estate!!!).

The session will be on Wednesdays from 18:30 until when you get too cold/tired/bored (in the water at 18:30 if at all possible) we have arranged for the centre to be open for post swim showers so come prepared for that!!

Sessions will be coached (if required) by level 3 BTA coaches (either me or Colin Gardener), and all abilities are catered for.

Professional Bike Fit

Bob recently had the opportunity to get a professional, computerised bike fit suing the Retul System at Velomotion. I cannot recommend this enough as prior to the fit I was struggling to get comfortable on my new time trial bike, and within a month of the fitting he completed a Ironman distance ride on the same bike.

Low Cost Sports Massage

Bob is now a fully qualified Sports Masseur (level 3) and a member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA). Bob generally only works with friends or clubmates (does not do this full time) but if you are unable to find a slot with your current practitioner then drop him a line.
